Charlotte

Charlotte

I laugh, I cry
I think, I fly
I sleep, I run
I breathe, I shun
I bleed, I weep
I fight
And go
slowly

The idea behind this production arose when theatre maker Eva Bal came upon a number of poems by a teenage girl. The girl found life hard to cope with and decided to put an end to it. The poems express fear, doubt, inner conflict, but also joy of living, energy and a sharp wit…

With seven youngsters from the KOPERGIETERY theatre workshops and the girl’s poems as her source of inspiration Eva Bal made a production in which acting, dancing, music and film merge.

The show revolves around a group of youngsters who accidentally hit upon an envelope containing a police report about the comings and goings of a girl called Charlotte, who has been rushed to ER. There is also a mobile with video images on it, made by the girl herself, and a number of poems. The quest for who Charlotte was or is begins…
