Four people try to reach a point, THE Point. The P-oint where everything makes sense, where you’re always happy and where your parents never fight. The p-P-p- oint where EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS FUN!
They’re almost there. They’re getting closer and closer and closer to to tomorrow.
But what if things don’t go as planned?
What if words and sounds start to run away with you?
What if your sentence reaches a very different p-P-p-oint than what you intended? Is that ba-th?
What happens if you lose your way?
Why don’t we diverge from the beaten path?
And which potato are we supposed to follow anyway?
‘p P p’ is a playful resistance against our performance driven society, tutoring bootcamps, thinking inside the box and fitfluencers-propaganda. A performance where spoken word, sound, gestures and music collide, jostle, slosh, and flow together again. A musilinguistic ode to never stop playing and daring to discover by theatremakers Laura Vroom en Mira Bryssinck in collaboration with Ayfer Iceloglu (sign language) and musician Geoffrey Burton.

ABOUT THE MAKERS
Laura Vroom is a theatre maker, performer, writer, and teacher. Together with Mira Bryssinck and Fred Libert, she is a member of the Par Hasard collective. Through their work (including “A Pair of Socks” and “Zet u”), they try to question reality in a playful, humorous, and highly verbal way. Laura also created “Langzaam gleed een berg het dal in” and “Sauerkraut” and recently performed in Helena Elshout’s production “ERF.” In her work, she always starts with her own text, written in a slightly absurd and poetic language.
Mira Bryssinck was, as a child and teenager, involved in the theatre workshops at KOPERGIETERY. She created her first performance, “Utopia,” with people living with a dual diagnosis at OC Villa Voortman. She then created “Letter” with Jan Marcoen (HETGEVOLG), followed in 2019 by her solo performance “Glory Box” (Cie Cecilia). Together with Laura Vroom and Fred Libert, she founded the collective Par Hasard. Through their work (including “A Pair of Socks” and “Zet u”), they try to question reality in a playful, humorous, and highly verbal way. In her own work, she also consistently seeks out highly physical performances. Mira also appeared on TV in the much-discussed “Tytgat Chocolat,” winner of the Prix Europa and the Diversity Award in Cannes.
Geoffrey Burton is a guitarist, music producer, and composer. Burton is a member of the band Hong Kong Dong and has collaborated with artists such as Arno, Charlotte Adigéry, Soulwax, Grace Jones, Daan, and Triggerfinger. In 2021, he released his debut album, *Me Ta Podia*. He composed the music for stage productions such as *COLORS*, *WaRaMiS*, and *De Bank*, all created by Frank Dierens. For KOPERGIETERY, he contributed to *De geschiedenis van de wereld* and *COLORS*. In “p P p,” the music will engage in a dialogue with the other (non-)verbal languages on stage and forms an essential part of the performance.
