In addition to the many performances we organize for schools, KOPERGIETERY is also committed to setting up and supporting various initiatives that bridge the gap to education.
With these initiatives, KOPERGIETERY aims to meet the urgent demand and need of (prospective) teachers – and by extension, all those involved in educational practice – to gain a deeper insight into the performing arts. Moreover, we want to encourage them to pass on these insights to children and young people. Naturally, this involves much more than providing information about their own productions and guest performances.
PREPARATION FOR YOUR THEATER VISIT
For years, KOPERGIETERY has dedicated itself to providing a solid educational framework for what is made and displayed in-house. To this end, we use our online inspiration platform KIOSK for the preparation and follow-up of our own creations. There you will find in-depth information, videos featuring the creators, and/or assignments related to the performance. If you are visiting a performance with the class, we ask that you prepare all students using KIOSK.
If you come to see a guest performance, we will forward the preparation information provided by the guest company to your school's cultural coordinator via email.
EXTRA
GUIDED TOURS
As part of the educational component of our activities, we also offer guided tours for (class) groups, either before or after seeing a performance. You get a glimpse behind the scenes and discover how a performance is created: from the first idea in the creator's head to the applause after the show.
CLASSROOM PROJECTS
Schools that would like to set up a class or school project in collaboration with KOPERGIETERY are welcome to contact our school coordinator. We would be happy to discuss how we can get involved!
TRY-OUTS & DRESS REHEARSAL
KOPERGIETERY regularly organizes try-outs for classes of new creations. These try-outs usually take place from two weeks to a few days before the premiere. To this end, we are inviting classes on short notice to attend the performance in progress (free of charge) and provide feedback to the creators. If you would like to participate, please send an email to our school coordinator.
For every new creation, we hold a dress rehearsal (this is the final rehearsal before the premiere). It is an ideal moment to experience the performance before you come to see it with your class. If you, as a supervising teacher, would like to attend the dress rehearsal, please let our school coordinator know.

You will also find all information there about how and when to register a class for a performance. Registration for the 2026-2027 school year closes on August 21, 2026.
Information evening
At the end of each theatre season, in May, we organize an information evening for teachers and cultural coordinators. During this evening, we explain the program of school performances (at our location in Ghent) for the upcoming season. We usually open registration for school performances shortly after the information evening.
