Imagine you are living in 2125. The world is populated with humans and metahumans. There are magrails, neuropads, pods and people on the moon.

Imagine your parents are suddenly gone. You are on your own. Breathing is harder. People who disappear take a piece of breath with them.

Imagine: you are taken in by your uncle. He is the boss of the biggest producer of metahumans. But you don't know who he is.

And then you fall in love. Just as suddenly. A feeling far too big that doesn't fit into your young body. Confusing too: because how human is the subject of your love?

Life soon turns out to be too full of people who are suddenly no longer there and others who are there too suddenly.
Is there a way out?
Is there new breathing space somewhere?

In the immersive sci-fi love thriller 'Code ♥', you see real and virtual actors on stage. 'Code ♥' shows a musical and visual imagination of the future using the latest AI software.

RESEARCH PROJECT

Alongside the creation of the performance, we are holding a research trajectory on the future of humanity together with Ghent-based maker community Nerdlab. Everyone is welcome to participate in this trajectory. You can find more info on the Nerdlab website

Stef De Paepe is a theatre and audio producer, actor, playwright and scriptwriter for television and radio plays. He was associated with the multimedia performance company CREW for almost 10 years, and was artistic director of the audio films of Het Geluidshuis for three years. Between 2013 and 2020, he was artistic and general director of children's and youth theatre house DE MAAN. He also teaches radio at the RITCS school of arts (Brussels).

Kazanga Jonathan Linga studied drama/play at the RITCS. Earlier, he completed a course in cinematography at AFDA in Johannesburg, South Africa. He participated in stage performances by DE MAAN and Muziektheater Transparant, among others. He also sings and creates his own music and soundscapes.

Alia Rifai graduated as a performer/maker from the RITCS in Brussels in 2023. In her own work, she explores different forms of language and preverbal communication from a physical and clownish working method. Together with Willem De Schryver and Armin Mola, Alia created ‘Primo Volo’. She also played in ‘Baked Beans’ (by Febe Coysman and Lena Majri/Monty) and ‘Vulcanize Me’ by Audrey Apers, among others. Spring 2026, Alia can be seen in Audrey's new show ‘Under Your Spell’.
