WORKSHOP PROJECTS
Within its drama workshop program, KOPERGIETERY sets up one or more projects each season. These projects vary in duration, structure, content, and form, but they are all created under the guidance of professional makers or teachers.
Some studio projects develop into 'full-fledged' touring performances; just think of the studio performances 'Kuddes', 'Schemerland', or 'De Klas'.
Current projects are:
VOLTAGE-CLUB
Three theatres, twelve young people, two creators and one performance. That is the premise of VOLTAGE-club, a project in which the workshop programmes of the theatres KOPERGIETERY, hetpaleis (Antwerp) and BRONKS (Brussels) join forces. Throughout the year, the young people from VOLTAGE-club will meet ten times, alternating between Ghent, Antwerp and Brussels, to put together a single finished performance under the guidance of professional creators. The result is presented in all three venues, and also each time as part of Volt FESTIVAL. This theatre festival, also founded by the three venues, focuses on (theatre) work by, for and of children and young people.
In 2026, the VOLTAGE Club was mentored by theatre makers Marios Bellas & Adem Ouhaibia, and they created the short performance ‘Niet Again’. In 2025, Voltage Club presented “T R dubbel O S T” under the guidance of theatre directors Georgina Theunissen and Bibi Van Lieshout. At the very first edition of Volt FESTIVAL in 2024, the club members worked with theatre makers Samuel Valor Reyes & Annelore Crollet. They presented “The motherf*cking end of the fatherf*cking world”. In their debut year, 2023, the young people worked with Simon Servaes D’Huyvetter and Joram Kunde Boumkwo.
